Affiliation: John Dorsky has been a doctor and surgeon for over 30 years with extensive knowledge of medical technology and the latest advancements in the field. He spearheaded a project that integrated voice recognition software into Cleveland Clinic operations, saving the hospital system over $3 million in transcription costs. Dr. Dorsky is expert in electronic medical records systems and management as well as clinical workflow analysis. He is also a patient advocate who has worked to leverage the advances of electronic health records to create a safer health care delivery system.
Jeffrey C. Gersbach, M.D. is board certified in Emergency Medicine and has been practicing as an emergency physician for more than 25 years in medical clinics and hospitals in Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia. He is a partner at Shenandoah Emergency Physicians LLC and was previously Medical Director of Emergency Department at Colleton Regional Hospital (now Colleton Medical Center).
Michelle Hure, M.D. is double board-certified in Dermatopathology and Anatomic Pathology and practices Dermatology and Dermatopathology in Orange County, California. She started her own practice, OC SkinLab, after serving as the Director of Dermatopathology for the largest private dermatology group on the west coast. She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Hure helped implement the use of speech recognition, while in residency training, at the University of Massachusetts and is an advocate for efficiency in electronic medical records.
Dr. Hure graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Political Science and a Master of Science in Pathology. She attended Ross University School of Medicine and graduated with high honors before completing her internship at Yale New Haven-St. Mary’s Hospital and residency/fellowship at UMass. She lives in southern Orange County with her husband and two young children.
Hal Julsen has more than 30 years of technology sales and marketing experience. Hal has held key executive positions in worldwide sales and marketing with companies such as Rogue Wave Software, Veribest Inc., Viewlogic Systems, Frame Technology, Iomega Corporation and Control Data Corporation.
He also sits on the Board of Directors of Intuicom, Inc., specializing in the design and manufacture of long-range robust wireless communication solutions.
Thomas Lang MD ABIM BCEM, was trained in Internal Medicine and is currently practicing as an emergency physician. Dr. Lang has a broad clinical background. His work in the ER has included the full spectrum of hospitals across the country, from inner city level 1 trauma centers to some of the most isolated Critical Access hospitals in America. Dr. Lang has practiced as an inpatient critical care physician and an office-based internist.As a partner in a large multi-specialty group for more than 10 years, Dr. Lang was very involved in most business aspects, including financial, QA, managed care contracting, etc. He served for many years as a Medical Director of a nursing home, and for one year as a senior executive in a publicly traded physician management firm. Dr. Lang has also practiced as a healthcare management consultant throughout his multi-faceted medical career.
Dr. Lang became interested in health IT due to dissatisfaction with products encountered in clinical work resulting in his involvement with a clinically-focused software start-up. As a member of the PDF Healthcare working group for a number of years, Dr. Lang has been involved in several projects related to health information exchange. Recently, Dr. Lang worked with a non-profit on federal grant funded projects to integrate State PDMPs (prescription drug monitoring programs) into existing health digital environments. Dr. Lang has a special interest in simplification and optimization of the end-user experience with health information technology, especially as it relates to software design and development.
Dr. Sa
ndra Sargent is a native of Beaver County. She received a BS in Animal Science from West Virginia University and her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota in 1992. She spent 11 years in private practice in central and eastern Pennsylvania before completing a three-year residency specializing in veterinary dermatology at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Sargent passed a rigorous examination and achieved board certification in veterinary dermatology in August 2006. Her special interests include diseases of the ear canal and equine dermatology. She has authored several publications and has spoken at numerous continuing education seminars.
Dr. Sargent spends her free time breeding, showing and competing in field trials with her Brittanys, and riding her Tennessee Walking Horse.
Robert C. Stillman, MA, RN, CPHIMS currently serves as the Director of Clinical Informatics at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Center. Mr. Stillman holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Arkansas State University, a Masters in Healthcare Economics from Eastern Michigan University and has obtained CPHIMS certification. He is an Army veteran with a broad range of nursing, clinical informatics and leadership experience
